New in 2010
Community Garden
Following the March Faith & Food workshop sponsored by Growing Hope and Food Gatherers, our mission team planned a Community Garden in our "backyard". We started small (8' x 10') and hope to expand in the coming years so that we have enough produce to donate to the community. The garden is north of the Towner House on Huron St.
Riverside Community Meal
Held at the church every Wednesday from 4:30-6 pm. Come serve a meal, have a conversation and pray with those in need from the neighborhood. Our partners are Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ann Arbor and Open Door Ministries at Fort St. Presbyterian Church, Detroit.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who meet together to attain and maintain sobriety. Meetings at our church:
Saturday 9:00am & 3:00pm
Sunday 7:30pm
Monday AA & Alanon 7:30pm
Tuesday 7:30pm

Friends In Deed is a Washtenaw County interfaith network of congregations consisting of caring people who possess the love, time, resources, and skills to meet the need of the less fortunate. Over 75 volunteers from forty-seven area congregations participate in answering requests for assistance. Since 1983, Friends In Deed has provided a bridge between congregations and people in need, providing new resources and utilizing existing community resources.
Ypsilanti Hunger Coalition
An association of local churches (including First United Methodist, Holy Trinity, First Presbyterian, and St. Matthew's United Methodist) who for several decades have prepared and served free meals during the week for those in need in the Ypsilanti area. The meals typically feed 60 – 80 or more persons on a weekly basis. |
